Teachers from Queensland Catholic schools have turned out in number to find out more about the Highly Accomplished and Lead Teacher (HALT) certification process at information sessions held around the state in recent weeks.

These two new classifications for classroom teachers were introduced on 1 July 2018 following a review of the teacher classification structure in Queensland Catholic schools.

Information sessions have been held in all dioceses for teachers in diocesan and Religious Institute schools and the Queensland College of Teachers has been confirmed as the certifying authority.

Teachers from throughout the state have shown strong interest in the voluntary certification process and it is expected the first Highly Accomplished and Lead Teachers will be certified by the end of 2019.
